We are seeking a proactive and detail-orientated Finance Administrator to join our small and supportive central team. Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the efficient, accurate, and timely handling of the Company’s financial activities. This role includes processing purchase and sales ledger transactions, managing supplier records, reconciling credit cards and petty cash, and contributing to the continuous improvement of financial procedures and practices.

You will work collaboratively with colleagues, ensuring compliance with financial policies, data protection, and audit requirements, while maintaining high standards of professionalism and confidentiality.

This is a varied and fast-paced role, ideal for someone with a strong standard of numeracy, excellent administrative skills, and a proactive approach.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has recent demonstrable experience working in an administrative or finance role.
  • Holds GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics at grade C or above.
  • Has excellent attention to detail and accuracy in their work.
  • Can prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrates strong communication skills and a professional telephone manner.
  • Has experience with computerised accounting packages* and purchase and sales ledger processes (desirable).
  • Experience reconciling credit card and petty cash transactions (desirable).

The Company use Access Financials; no experience of this specific package is necessary as training will be given.

Experience with reconciling credit card and petty cash transactions is desirable but not essential, if you are a quick learner with the right attitude and core transferable skills, we would still like to hear from you.

This is a term time only post + 1 week (40 weeks per year).

Actual pro-rated salary range is £22,700 – £23,429 (based on full-time equivalent £25,183 – £25,992) for working 37 hours per week.

Full time hours: 08:30–16:30 Monday to Thursday, 08:30–16:00 Friday

Safeguarding Information

We are committed to safeguarding and expect everyone who works in our school (and visitors to our school) to share this commitment. We take all safeguarding and welfare concerns seriously and encourage our pupils to talk to us about any worries they may have. We will always act in the best interests of the child.

To ensure that the Company meets its commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people it undertakes a number of pre-employment checks. The successful applicant must be willing to undergo child protection screening, including checks with past employers and an enhanced DBS.

Regulated Activity - all positions in schools which amount to regulated activity with children are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (ROA).  Schools are therefore entitled to ask about and take into account spent convictions when making appointment decisions, other than those which have been designated as 'protected' under the DBS filtering rules. The Company applies for an enhanced disclosure from the DBS and a check of the Children's Barred List (now known as an Enhanced Check for Regulated Activity) in respect of all positions at the Company which amount to "regulated activity" as defined in the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006 (as amended).  The purpose of carrying out an Enhanced Check for Regulated Activity is to identify whether an applicant is barred from working with children by inclusion on the Children's Barred List and to obtain other relevant suitability information.
